     On the Ice...

Every Class begins with a quick warm-up to get your body and your mind ready for a solid work-out. Skills are taught in a pyramid format - each step builds on the one before. Practices are designed to make sure that everyone is skating/working/learning as much as possible, and waiting as little as possible. With such a packed ice schedule, skaters are encouraged to step out and rest as they need. They can grab some water, catch thier breath, then jump back in and skate.

This is a typical ice plan for a Basics I/II class. A new plan is drawn up before every class to ensure that the focus is where the skaters need the work, as opposed to a preplanned course curriculum.
